Avery Barbera

Biography

Avery works as a remote, part-time policy intern for the Consortium. She is currently a member of the human genome editing project team, where she is helping to source literature and design upcoming focus group material.

Avery recently graduated from the honors program at Western Washington University with a B.A. in environmental studies and minors in environmental policy and geographic information science (GIS). While completing her degree, Avery played soccer for the university and worked part-time for a telemedicine service. 

With her time at the Consortium, Avery hopes to gain valuable public policy experience and develop a greater understanding of public engagement methods and practices.
