Global Citizen Consultation on Climate and Energy

100 citizens, selected to represent demographic diversity of Arizona, will join similar citizen groups in three U.S. cities and 80 countries in the world to discuss and express their views on an identical set of questions, designed to reflect policy controversies at the UNFCC negotiations to take place in Paris in December of this year (COP 21).

1. It is very important that you arrive no later than 8:30AM so the program can begin promptly at 9AM.

  • 9:00 am — Welcome, Introductions and Instructions (40 minutes)
  • 9:40 am — First thematic session: Importance of Tackling Climate Change (80 minutes)
  • 11:00 am — Second thematic session: Tools to Tackle Climate Change (75 minutes)
  • 12:15 pm — Lunch, including US National Question (60 minutes)
  • 1:15 pm — Third thematic session: UN Negotiations & National Commitments (70 minutes)
  • 2:25 pm — Exercise Break
  • 2:35 pm — Fourth thematic session: Fairness and Distribution of Efforts (70 minutes)
  • 3:45 pm — Fifth thematic session: Making and Keeping Climate Promises (60 minutes)
  • 4:45 pm — Closing Remarks
  • 5:00 pm — Exit Surveys/Conclude
