Mara Karageozian
Associate Researcher at the Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes at Arizona State University
Biography
Mara Karageozian is an Associate Research Professional at the Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes at Arizona State University (ASU). Mara holds a B.S. in Geology from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and earned her Ph.D. in Geological Sciences at ASU’s School of Earth and Space Exploration. In addition, she has a doctoral certificate in Responsible Innovation in Science, Engineering, and Society from ASU’s School for the Future of Innovation in Society. At CSPO, Mara organizes and leads projects that bring stakeholders and the public together around complex science and technologies. Her current focus is on NSF-funded stakeholder workshops for marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) community capacity building, helping scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders weigh the challenges and solutions of community capacity for ocean-based climate strategies.
