Spring 2026 Program Series

How can policymakers manage risks while also supporting accelerated science and innovation? As biotech breakthroughs—from gene editing to AI-enabled design to distributed biomanufacturing—reach wider adoption and scale, federal agencies and legislators face growing pressure to ensure that innovation moves faster while also addressing concerns about data security, downstream uses, and community needs and values.

The CSPO New Tools seminar series brings together S&T policy implementers, researchers, and decision leaders to develop practical approaches that enhance the public value and societal benefits of federal science and technology programs. Each session of our Spring 2026 series highlights concrete policy challenges, governance options, and tools for oversight and strategic coordination. Discussions will emphasize actionable insights for the future of the US scientific enterprise.
