Mitzi Montoya

Biography

Mitzi is responsible for advancing ASU as a leader in entrepreneurship and innovation, including supporting student and faculty entrepreneurship, enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and driving innovative collaborative initiatives across ASU. Previously at ASU, Mitzi served as Dean of the College of Technology & Innovation and Vice Provost of the ASU Polytechnic campus. She led the development of a new model for higher education that embedded hands-on, real-world projects in the curriculum in partnership with industry and the community.

Mitzi established ASU as a national leader in the growing maker movement and developed public-private partnerships to advance both higher education and the regional innovation system, including development of a public open prototyping facility that unites the community, local companies and the university.
