Sarah R. Davies

Biography

Sarah R. Davies is a researcher with interests in public engagement with science, science in museums, and the governance of emerging technologies. She has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry (2001), a master’s degree in science communication (2003), and a doctorate on public dialogue on science (2007), all from Imperial College, London. She has worked at Durham University’s Institute of Hazard and Risk Research, been a Fellow of the UK’s North East Beacon for Public Engagement and is currently based at Arizona State University’s Center for Nanotechnology in Society, where she completed postdoctoral work and where she now coordinates private sector engagement. She has published in a wide range of venues, including the journals Science as Culture, NanoEthics, Public Understanding of Science, andScience Communication, and has co-edited two books, Science and its Publics (2008) andUnderstanding Nanotechnology (2010). She also has worked in exhibition development at the Science Museum, London, and taught undergraduate science students about communicating science.
