David Rabkin, Ph.D., is the Farinon Director for Current Science and Technology at the Museum of Science, Boston. In this role, he directs programs that explore scientific discoveries and technological innovations and their impact on our lives and world. He also helps guide efforts to “green” the Museum’s facilities and operations and to integrate ecosystems, climate change, and sustainability as topics in its educational program. The current science and technology initiative mixes timely, often provocative, topics with innovation in educational methods to engage a diverse and curious audience that typically includes adults.
He also directs the newly renovated Charles Hayden Planetarium, an award-winning producer of original fulldome science shows and an innovator in the use of technology to create highly flexible, interactive, presenter-led planetarium programming.
Dr. Rabkin holds an AB in Engineering Sciences from Harvard College and PhD in Technology and Innovation Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Prior to joining the Museum of Science in 2000, he had a career in engineering and general management in the software industry.
