Corrie Ntiforo
Director of Biosafety at the University of Texas Medical Branch
Biography
Corrie Ntiforo currently serves as the Director of Biosafety at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she also holds the roles of Institutional Biosafety Officer and Alternate Responsible Official. With over 17 years of experience, she is a seasoned biosafety professional recognized for leading world-class biosafety programs in high and maximum containment laboratories, Select Agent research programs, and biosafety operations across academic and healthcare settings.
Corrie is an active member of the UTMB leadership team and serves as a safety liaison on the UTMB Community Liaison Committee (CLC). The CLC plays a vital role in advising UTMB leadership on effective communication of complex scientific concepts to the public. Additionally, the CLC reviews policies and provides critical guidance on the complex issues associated with high-containment medical research.
Ms. Ntiforo holds a Master of Science in Public Health in Parasitology and Tropical Medicine from Tulane University and a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
