Biography
Dan Charles is an independent writer and audio producer, focusing on stories related to food, farming, and climate change. He was previously a correspondent for NPR’s science desk and for New Scientist magazine. He wrote a book about the launch of genetically engineered crops and another about the life of Fritz Haber, inventor of the Haber-Bosch process for capturing nitrogen from the air. He grew up on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania, worked in Germany for several years, and taught journalism in Ukraine through the Fulbright program.
