Doug Austen

National Landscape Conservation Cooperatives Coordinator, US Fish and Wildlife Services

Biography

Doug Austen is the national coordinator for the Landscape Conservation Cooperatives and is located in the Office of the Science Advisor of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  Doug has been working in the conservation field for over 25 years with time spent as executive director of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, in various positions with the Illinois Department of Natural  Resources and as a research biologist with the Illinois Natural History Survey where he also was an adjunct faculty with the University of Illinois.  In August, Doug will depart from the USFWS to become Executive Director of the American Fisheries Society. Doug received his Ph.D. from Iowa State University, M.S. from Virginia Tech and B.S. degree from South Dakota State University.
