Ashley Allen

Climate Change Foreign Affairs Officer; Lead Negotiator for UNFCCC Article 6, U.S. State Department

Biography

Ashley Allen coordinates public outreach on U.S. international climate policy and is the lead negotiator for Article 6 on United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) at the U.S. State Department. She leads a team that implements the U.S. government Low Emission Development Strategies program to help developing countries around the world develop low carbon solutions for economic growth. Previously, she was Acting Division Chief, Climate Change Specialist at USAID where she led the climate change programs, evaluation and learning team, providing technical training, guidance and oversight on planning and results for USAID’s $350 million per year Global Climate Change Initiative. Ashley directly managed $12 million climate change monitoring and evaluation task order and helped manage the Low Emission Development Strategies program. She joined the agency as a Presidential Management Fellow.
